Don’t Copy and Paste

I never thought it would happen to me, but I was not an exception in this instance. Taking a picture or a gif and saying it is your own or just using it, not even mentioning the person who made it is wrong. I for one know how hard I work on making my gifs, and I know just how hard everyone else works on theirs and for someone to swoop in and take it is not okay. 

Everyone on here needs to respect that people are proud of their gifs pictures, ideas and what not, it’s something they have worked hard on and want to share with the world. We share it with the world, because whatever the topic may be it’s something we love, and something we want to love and fangirl with other people who have that same passion. We spend our time working on gifs and etc., we don’t do it for a job we do it for ourselves. We go out there and put our work on the internet not for money, not for recognition but to share something we love with others who are similar to ourselves. 

Most of us watermark, not all do. I don’t because I haven’t quite worked out how, but that is still no excuse. It still belongs to someone. Someone spent time and effort working on it, and taking it because there is no significant mention of the maker is no excuse. It is disrespectful to the person who has made the item in question, and it is simply selfish and rude. No one would mind if you asked, or correctly recognised the maker of it. But to go out and take the work of another person is not okay.

Please consider this next time you copy and paste something, think of the person who made it - how proud they must be, how much time they spent working on it. Please do not steal someone’s work.
